How to Divide Decimals by Decimals

Hey Friends! This week we are going to divide decimals by decimals! What does it mean to divide?
Yep! Make equal parts or groups!

To divide decimals correctly, you have to remember 3 things.
  1. Use graph paper or turn your notebook sideways to line up your numbers correctly.
  2. Move the decimal, so that your divisor is a whole number. What you do to the divisor, you do to the dividend.
  3. Use your mad long division skillz to solve.

Here's a quick video lesson...

Water Cycle in a Jar!

How does the earth recycle water?

The water on our Earth today is the same water that’s been here since the Earth began. So far, we haven’t managed to create any new water.

The only thing that changes is the form that water takes as it travels through its cycle. Water exists at the Earth's surface as liquid, solid, and vapor. It is forever changing from one of those three states to another. The water moves from the ocean to the air to the land and back again. The endless movement of water in nature is called...

...and here's a not at all cheesy and totally awesome Water Cycle song
with the CUTEST lil' drop dude. 💙

Here is the Water Cycle Model we made in class today.

Don't forget to complete the Lab Report in Classkick:

Draw/color the model.
Label the parts of the water cycle.
Add 2-3 observations.

Hulked Up Responses!

Can you type a paragraph in 20 minutes or less? Yep! Just like anything in life, writing takes practice. Each time you write, you become a stronger and more confident writer!

In February, we practiced writing a complete paragraph. 🍔 Now we will use that same strategy to answer questions using information from one or more sources.

This week, we learned about making a claim and proving it with evidence. Always HULK UP your answer, by citing the source: book, passage, video, graphic feature, or text. It's wise to add information from the source because it proves your claim. You can even copy and paste words directly from the text, as long as you put them in "quotation marks" and always tell the reader where the information came from!
