Week 18: Deep in the Hundred Acre Wood

A. A. Milne was born on January 18, 1882 in Hampstead, London. In 1926, he wrote his first book titled Winnie-the-Pooh about his son Christopher Robin. The animal characters in the book were inspired by his son's stuffed animals, most notably a bear named Winnie-the-Pooh.This book was followed by the verses Now We are Six in 1927, and The House at Pooh Corner in 1928.
In honor of this beloved author, January 18 is now considered Winnie-the-Pooh Day!
