Weekly Response: Norman Rockwell

Norman Rockwell is one of my favorite artists. Every painting tells a story. I especially like the way he captures childhood memories. I'm sure all of you can relate to his paintings. I know I do.

For this week's response, look at the painting and answer the questions below. For a better view, you can click on the painting and enlarge it.

     1) What is happening in this painting by Norman Rockwell?
     2) What season is represented in the image? How do you know?
     3) What should the title of this painting be?

I will publish all comments on Thursday, so you can see what others have written (without spoiling your own creativity). For a chance to win a lollipop, please respond before Saturday, October 12th!

They're raking leaves.
It represents fall.
And the title should be "The Fun of Fall"

1) The dog is digging in the leaves.
2) It is fall because all the leaves are piled up like it does in fall.
3) The title should be Fall Stories.

Its fall in the picture because of leaves.

1. A boy and his neighbor are raking up leaves.
2. The season is fall. I know this because the leaves in that pile are brown and other fall colors.
3. This painting should be called A Beautiful Fall Morning.

In the painting the boy and the man are raking leaves while the dog plays in them. It is fall because they are raking up the leaves. A good title would be " Fall Memories".

The boy and his Grandfather are raking leaves. The boy stopped to light the leafs on fire. The dog is looking for treasure. The Grandfather is not realizing what is happening.
The season is Fall. The leafs fall and change color in fall time.
"No Good Can Come From This" should be the title. hahahahah! XD

They are racking the leafs then they boy is oddly lighting the leafs on fire plus the dog is play like all dogs should. the season that is represented is fall. In my opinion the title for this painting should be Fall gone bad.

1. What is happening is a little boy is burning the leaves, the dog is looking for something to chew on under the pile of leaves, and the older man is gazing into the sky. 2. The season is Fall because it has colorful leaves that fall off the trees and the little boy and older man raked it. 3. Raking Fall

Jacob: The kid is about to light the leaves on fire. It is fall in the picture. I would call this "Fire in the Fall!"

Jace: The grandpa is not paying attention to a kid who is about to set dry leaves on fire. The season is Fall. I would call this painting "A Fiery Fall".

#1 A boy is helping Norman rake leaves.
#2 The season is fall because the pile of leaves are orange and yellow.
#3 A Sunny Fall.
