Creatively Thinking

In school, many times you are asked to give the one correct answer to a question.  However, in life and on the job, it is important to find many solutions to a single problem. This leads me to believe, that we all need to practice thinking “out of the box” to strengthen our creative or “divergent” thinking skills.

Divergent Thinking: creative, open-ended thinking aimed at generating fresh views and novel solutions (many solutions to a single problem).

Convergent Thinking: thinking that brings together information focused on solving a problem (especially solving problems that have a single correct solution).

Put on your creativity hat and use your divergent thinking skills to answer the question below…
How many unusual and uncommon uses can you come up with for this mouse?

I look forward to your answers!

You could swing it around a couple times and whack a burglar on the head with it. It might knock him out, depending on how hard you swing it, and where you hit him...
Or you could dress it up like a mouse, tape it to the frame of a small RC car, and play with a cat with it.
Or you could, again, swing it around, but aim for buckets tilted toward you slightly. The smaller and less tilted the bucket, the more points you get.

Really, there are thousands of uses for a blunt object on a string.

This is quite random, but I think an old mouse could be used as a child's toy car. The body could be painted to look like a car, and it could be pulled along by the cord. I don't know.... :)

Uses for an old mouse:

Use 1. In the event that an unauthorized person enters your home you may yell like Tarzan and swing from its cord, scaring the burglar from your home.

Use 2. In the event that an unauthorized person enters your home you may modify the light in the mouse to a laser light, attach a plug-in, and aim at your opponent.
(Trying this at home is not recommended)

Use 3. In the event that a person is being unbelievably annoying you may offer your killer old mouse as a gift. Enjoy your easy escape.

Use 4. You could walk around Wal-Mart, hide in the clothing, and chuck your mice at anyone who passes. They'll never know what hit them. And hey! Free wallets.

Use 5. In the event that your little sister is bored and refuses to quiet down. Paint your old mouse, put sticky wheels on it, and modify it to hold batteries. Enjoy your peace and quiet as your sibling watches it drive all over the ceiling. Endless fun for all ages.

Use 6. In the event that the touch pad on your computer is not responding I suggest you use your mouse.

It would be cool to see kid using it as a toy car, with the mouse painted.(I'm going to try it with my lil brother)

You could disconnect from the computer and pull it behind you in front of a cat so the cat could chase the "mouse".

Draw cool designs on it and eyes so that it looks like a small aquatic animal and put it in the bottom of a fish-tank as a decoration. Or take it apart to learn how computer "mice" are configured. Or make a cool sculpture type thing with it, such as this one --> http://www.environmentteam.com/art/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/repurposed-scorpion-sculpture.jpg or this one --> http://www.recyclart.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/computer_art_2.jpg

1. Paperweight for a technological person: Take out all the "guts" of the mouse, fill with sand, and replace bottom cover, Cover with tech terms and diagrams.
2. Clock pendulum: Take out "guts", fill with sand, and replace bottom cover. Attach by the cord to a grandfather clock. Replace face with old computer board, place numbers at the right spots. Another crazy tech gift! :-)
3.Add legs and turn into a spider decoration.
4. Use body for a robot.

Attaching it to a grandfather clock sounds interesting. You could call it wacky time .

Yes you are very right. There are many things you can turn an old mouse into.
