I learned so much in Speaking in Front of others, I took a lot of notes that will help me in debate class. I learned that good posture and eye contact are very important, as well as coming well prepared to the stage. I chose this concept to share because I think that good speaking abilities are very important, for all lifestyles. -Malena H.

I found a lot of interesting material in the course. One thing that I found interesting was Unit five lesson one, memory. I enjoyed learning about the different memory stages sensory memory, short term memory, and long term memory. I also like learning how a good sleep and good nutrition affects the memory. I also enjoyed the seven tips to improving your memory!

effective work habbits and goals are very important. I thought effective work habits was very helpful because it helped me realize that I can't work in noise. where I work has to be quiet and if there is still outside noise, I can put on quiet music to counteract it. it works great. I chose goals because it's always good to have goals, yo know what they are and stick to them.

In the Reaching Your Academic Potential course I learned a lot of things about myself and my future. I learned that I am a very good leader. I have found things I want to do in the future so I can work on my goals for them now. I will have many barriers ahead but with my knowledge from this course I can tackle them and move forward. I learned different ways to take notes instead of just jolting down everything the teacher tells us. This course has been very helpful to me and I enjoyed it very much.

In the RYAP course I learnt a lot of important skills, but I think the most valuable and important one was learning how to speak in front of others. I'm a very shy person, so speaking in front of a crowd naturally made my knees buckle. Now, after applying certain tips, I'm much more confident and even my teachers in my second school have noted my progress.

I learned a great deal in Reaching Your Academic Potential. It was a little difficult though because I am only a freshman and don't know exactly what I want to do yet, but I did research some potential careers and great tips to help me take notes and study!

Will you be my homeroom teacher next semester too?

I should have the same kids in homeroom next semester too. Yay for me!

I learned many helpful and important things this semester in this class. The most important thing that I learned was that you are not born with an aptitude for math but you learn to become good at math. All throughout school I have always had this superstition that I am just not good at math. But I learned that learning to be good at math is like learning to be good at reading. I have always been a acomplished reader so I figured, why not be good at math to? I chose to share about this subject because I would like to encourage someone who may of had the same attitude that I had, that your just not good at what your working at. Just keep working at it and eventualy practice will prevail.

I learned a lot about every thing taking this class. I was not doing to good at math, then I took the lesson about math help.

Some of the most helpful lessons were the beginning ones that taught me how to manage my time and assignments, along with how to organize my work station. The "Effective Work Habits" unit helped me make a lot of changes to how I was working and make them better. Thanks to RYAP, I've stopped procrastinating on my assignments!

The most useful things I learned this semester is better word habits and organization. I still don't have a handle on motivation, but I'm trying. I intend to do better work next semester with these work habits.

The one of the most helpful things I learned this semester were Effective work habits and setting down goals and organizing. One of the most enjoyable lessons was learning how the brain processes memory. Setting down goals was especially helpful every time I would set down a few goals and complete them more would appear and more interesting challenges showed up and it would give me confidence to set out more. I hope to improve more on my organizing skills next semester.

I can’t say I learned a whole lot about my strengths and mind-set, but that’s mainly because I already knew about them. I already pretty much knew my strengths and how my mind ticked, although hearing this stuff from this course was really nice. As for my goals, I believe I’ve learned how hard it is to achieve them over time. I understand that a goal like the one I’m striving for isn’t as easy as it may have seemed. Always room for improvement, and I’ll just have to try harder than before! The academic skills I’ve learned do help a lot. It’d be hard to list just a few, because the entire course had lots of them for me. I had more fun reading through this course than I thought I would, for some reason I just enjoyed reading the lessons, they seemed to have some really interesting information for me.

Ryap taught me how to set goals and achieve them at my own pace and demeanor. i learned to start looking and working towards my future career. ive learned how hard it is to work towards somthing you want but in the end it is worth the struggle.

I enjoyed learning about the brain, and where in the brain different things are processed. I have long thought of my brain as, in cartoon, a bunch of tiny guys in hard hats running around flipping through files in aisles filing cabinets around a brain-shaped room, looking for memories when you try to remember something. When we looked at the process of how you remember things, I found I am kind of right. Your brain sorts things into categories, and when you need to remember something, you often sit there, with your friend giving you facts and details about what you are trying to remember, until you get enough info to recall the correct memory.

Getting organized in the home schooling process is very important. Being in a quiet place so I can listen and learn helps me dearly. I need to focus more on my studies and get on the ball.
